What a thrill to have found this article. Louise is an inspiration to me. I am a humble artisan from Massachusettes and have collected sea glass my entire life. I am also 53, but have only been using my sea glass in my artwork for 3 years. I have always dabbled in the arts, but now consider myself a sea glass artisan. I too have turned my hobby into a business named http://www.jewelrybydaniellerenee.com . I have sold retail, but truly love selling from my website where I can actually engage in conversations with others who have the same passion about sea glass as myself. I am finding many kindred spirits but I’m starting to think I am just touching the surface.
Congratulations Louise on your success!

I personally enjoy the pieces she buys on eBay under the name maggiesbeadery the best, it’s easier to buy it in large lots than to actually go out on the beach and find it yourself.
I myself have great respect and admiration for fellow beach combers such as Louise Rodgers. I’ve also at the age of six started collecting beach glass in Malibu, Ca. Recycling shards of glass from
shorelines and creating art is
extremely creative.
Prior to seeing this article I had the pleasure of accidentally finding my way to the Rogers Gallery and Surroundings a few years ago. At that time I met both Louise and Ben. I quickly became an enormous fan of both of them as well as their outstanding collection of unique and electic goods. Both are stores that you won’t find for many, many states around Mattapoisett, MA.
In reading this story, I was thrilled to see Louise highlighted. It was a great surprise. I had no idea her talents covered this arena as well. Its time for a trip back to Mattapoistett, MA.
Louise Rogers is a truly lucky woman to have been collecting sea glass since the age of six. I too have turned my love of beachcombing for sea glass into a business. Like Louise I find my own sea glass it’s the only way for me. I make sea glass jewelry.
I have been doing this for twenty years. Out Of the Blue Seaglass Jewelry is the name of my company and I have just recently created a website. My advice to anyone is to follow your instincts - and once your business is established don’t let the business side of it rule you - yes be mindful money wise - but let it be a love affair!
